In January 2005 the school expanded to become a Scandinavian Education Center, offering full-time and part time daycare and preschool for children 9 months to five years old, language classes for children K-12 as well as for adults.

The Scandinavian School is seeking two fully qualified preschool teachers for our infant and preschool programs.  Our school follows a Scandinavian play based curriculum and is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy.  We are a language immersion program where we speak only Danish, Norwegian and Swedish in the classrooms.  Our preschool children ages range from 2-5.9 and our infant classroom ages are from 9 months.

Job Summary:  

The Scandinavian School is looking for fulltime dedicated, energetic individuals to work with children of various ages.  You will be responsible for parent teacher conferences, participation in parent meetings, staff meetings, documentation and general curriculum planning.  You should have a willingness to continue your education.  Both infant and preschool positions will start in early August 2010.

Job requirements:

Fluent in Danish, Norwegian or Swedish
Bachelors of Education preferred, but not necessary
Minimum of 12 ECE units, including 3 infant units
Experience in teaching
US work permit
Background check, fingerprinting and CPR required.

Nordic 5 Arts was founded in 1993 by Kati Casida. The organization is comprised of professional artists in the San Francisco Bay Area of Nordic/Scandinavian descent and artists born in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
